Midwest River Fishing Tips from MegaCat CrewCurrent Catfish Topic: Set Lining Wow what a great video on set line fishing on the rivers of the midwest looking for megacats. I have been doing a lot of thinking as the summer heat and the midwest fishing reports become more active. We will all hear about these guys catching the big channel cats and flathead cats these megacat's they teach you how to rig for are 50lb and larger catfish "That is some good dinners" The midwest is known for their recipes for how to cook the best catfish. Anyhow not to drift from This DVD I feel that Jack Love from MegaCat Crew has done a great job along with the other great fishermen that helped Jack Love in putting this Catfish Set Lining Training Video such as Kirk, Tom and Rick. Great Job and Well Done....
My son could not go to sleep when he saw the video start and I put it on after he went to bed.... LOL He however talked his mom into letting him watch the entire video after school tomorrow so we maybe going catfishing soon. I have hooked up on a few catfish when bass fishing however I have never caught bigger than maybe a 15 - 20 lb Catfish.... I could just imagine what a 50 lb cat would feel like on a 100lb fishing line or even setting up a rig that Jack shows you how to build step by step and also teaches you the basics of how to properly sharpen your hooks to properly storing you live bait for 6 or more months at a time in old freezers and aerators it was really cool. It was great to see a live demonstration of the proper way to cast a bait net and teaching you step by step what they did and why. They also explain in detail little tips that come from years of experience little tips like make sure you let the net fall to the bottom before you set the net. he stated "I normally count it down from 5 and that normally hits depending on its depth, the deeper the canal the longer you should wait" the reason was that you want to keep the most amount of bait fish in the bait net as you can and then re-cast the fishing net again and repeat the cycle until you have enough bait fish. They also explained the details of the bait fish to a certain extent but not really needed they are grass carp very simply put Catfish Love Them....
